10 Signs That It’s Time to Ditch Your Real Estate Agent
01.26
Buying a home is the most expensive purchase most people ever make. It stands to reason that you would like to know that your agent is doing their best for you. Here are 10 red flags that tell you they’re not.
1. “Well I had some clients before, but they were all jerks.”
Beware of an agent who trash talks *everyone* they’ve ever represented. It’s kind of like the people who have had a string of “crazy ex’s”. Eventually it might become obvious to you that you’re going to be the next “jerk” that they complain about to their next client. You also have to wonder what they are doing in this profession if they aren’t enjoying many of the people they work with. Even if the agent’s previous clients *were* all jerks, it hardly makes them look good to be bad-mouthing them to other clients who will then wonder if they’re going to get the same treatment.
2. “Sorry I haven’t gotten back to you in the past week; things have been crazy.”
How long does it take to dash off a short email telling clients what’s going on with their house hunt? Is a 5 minute phone call that lets the clients know that things are rolling ahead (or that there’s an issue that needs addressing) really that hard? There’s nothing wrong with an agent who sets specific times to send and return calls, emails, faxes, etc., but an agent who doesn’t set expectations and then meet them is not likely to be doing their best for you.
A Cyprus Holiday Apartment is it a Good Time to Buy One?
01.15
Cyprus is a beautiful Island enjoying mild weather all year round with minimum temperatures of around 18c and over 320 sunny days every single year. If that doesn’t make it a great place to own a holiday apartment then how about all the other things it has going for it? English is a second language taught in all the schools and most businesses advertise in English too. They drive on the left same as the U.K. and they inherited the same legal system whilst under British rule up until 1960. In fact Cyprus has often been referred to as England with the sun. Maybe that’s why so many folks are buying property in Cyprus and many are even settling there to live or retire in the sun. So if you like the idea of owning a holiday apartment in the sun a Cyprus apartment is a great way to step onto the property ladder.
The Island is in the throes of a major property boom and the prices of a Cyprus apartment continue to rise year on year. This is why many buyers of Cyprus holiday apartment or villa properties have decided to move now before they are priced out of the market. Despite this rapid increase in property values a Cyprus apartment still represents great value for money both in terms of purchase prices compared with the U.K. and investment value. In fact prices of property in Cyprus have recently risen faster than comparable investments in many other parts of Europe including Great Britain.
7 Simple and Easy Steps to Big Time Real Estate Investing Success
10.27
Too many real estate investors fail to achieve their dreams because they fail to properly launch their investing careers or because they reach a crossroads and don’t know which way to turn. Confused about the next step to take, they spin their wheels, do nothing, and eventually opt to walk away from real estate completely and go back to a life of mediocrity. To prevent this from happening to you, follow this simple seven step roadmap to success.
Step One: Education – The right education is critical to your success. Before getting started you should begin learning about a variety of creative techniques. You don’t want to spend so much time preparing to invest that you never launch your investing career, but you don’t want to go off half-cocked and fire at everything that moves either. Learn enough to be able to write an intelligent offer and then make it happen. As your career advances, continue learning as you go along. There’s a ton of accumulated investing knowledge available, so take advantage of it. Keep in mind, too, that education doesn’t have to be a $2,000-$3,000 guru-sponsored super course. You can sometimes learn more from a $20 book, but never quit learning or you will quit growing.
